Adult Education and Community

We have a range of opportunities for adults to gather. Here are a few of them.

SUNDAY MORNING

Every Sunday morning from 10 – 10:50, we gather to learn and hang out together. There are two adult classes on Sundays.
Cornerstone 2: discussion of contemporary life issues, often using video series.
Journeys in Faith: centered on book studies and exciting guest speakers, this Sunday school group reads widely, from books on gratitude journaling and other spiritual practices to current events to theology.

Weekday Groups and Activities

MomCo

At least once each month, our children’s ministry Director Bethany Hader Crabbs organizes outings for our MomCo (Mom’s Community) group. Moms and kids go together to local attractions like the Denver Museum of Nature and Science or local splash parks to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. The MomCo group also meets at the church. This is a great way to connect to other families through fun activities for kids and adults!

Pastor’s Bible Study

Every Friday from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM, our Pastor leads a Bible study on the scripture passage he’s using for that Sunday’s sermon. Here’s your chance to get a preview of the Sunday worship!

Poetry, Psalms, and Seinfeld

This lively group meets Thursdays from 10:00 – 11:30 to read and discuss contemporary books on spirituality and Christian life.

Labyrinth Walk

The labyrinth is an ancient form of walking meditation originating in the Cathedrals of Europe. The first Monday of each month from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. we have a prayer labyrinth open to be walked. Drop in to participate whenever you like.

Chancel Choir

It’s been said that church choirs are “groups of friends that sing some.” That’s a perfect description of our choir. If you want to sing and you can fog a mirror, you’re in! (If you can’t fog a mirror, our music director JoAnn may make an exception). You’ll make good friends, have a wonderful time singing, and enrich our worship. The choir meets every Thursday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 September – May.

Justice and Advocacy Ministry

We believe that Jesus calls his followers to live his teachings beyond the walls of our church. Our Justice and Advocacy Ministry serves with partner nonprofit agencies such as Metro Caring, Colorado Faith Communities United, The Interfaith Alliance, After Hours, Habitat for Humanity, and others to create a compassionate and peaceable city and world. Call or email us at the church to be connected to these opportunities to serve.

Men’s Faith & Fellowship

Join the men’s group for conversation on a variety of topics, some of which even have to do with church! We meet on Tuesdays from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M. at the University Park Church building.

United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith offers a great way to make friends and make a difference. Members help lead in worship and other ministries of our church. The organization works around the world to combat human trafficking, provide medical care and education to underserved areas, and fight for the rights of women and children. The group meets September through May on the Second Thursday of each month.
