Psalms, Poems and Seinfeld  will be reading and discussing The Universal Christ by Fr. Richard Rohr.  Most of us know who Jesus is but who is “Christ?”  Rohr, a globally recognized author and teacher, writes that our understanding has been limited by culture, tradition and tribalism.  Using scripture, history and spiritual practice, Rohr says that Jesus’ life proclaims that humanity shouldn’t be separate from God and that faith is learning to recognize the Creator’s presence all around us and in everyone we meet.

“Jesus came to show us how to be human much more than how to be spiritual,”  declares Rohr, while urging us to learn to trust our “Christian common sense” and declaring that “Science and religion need each other.”

Any and all are invited to join us in person or on Zoom every Thursday from 10:00-11:30 for the next several weeks as we delve into this fascinating and enlightening book.  Books will be available.

By the way, the unusual name for the group comes from recognizing that God speaks to us in many ways and through different mediums.  Discerning the voice of God through all facets of our lives – that is part of trusting our Christian common sense.
